But why would I do that? I love shopping and getting awesome deals on my crafty items!
I know, I know. Me TOO! But it isn't always an option to just go out and get new craft supplies. So here's some thoughts on how to be content with what you already have! Some of these are things that I've told myself in the past, so I thought I would share with you all. We can get through it together!

Getting deals is an awesome feeling, especially on items that you know you'll love! Joann, Michael's, Hobby Lobby... they will always be there, and their coupons come around pretty frequently. Almost every time I check these apps, they almost all have some kind of 40% off of one item or 20% off entire purchase. So even though you get that coupon that says it expires in 2 days, relax. Another one will come by. Promise.
If you've got your eye on a large purchase, such as Copics or a die cut machine, etc. SAVE UP for it. That way you know it's an item that you will really use and not just a spur-of-the-moment, gotta-get-it-for-this-ONE-project situation. Once it is time to purchase it, the payoff from the wait will be so much greater. Coupon expiration dates should not scare you into buying. Stand against coupon bullying!
Many times, crafters will share their hauls of all the awesome goodies on Youtube videos, blogs, etc. Hauls can be great for getting the closest thing to a hands-on look over the web. That's how I've found some pretty cute things and great stores to try out. They are a great information sharing resource, but if it means you spending when you're on a spending freeze, you'd better look the other way (unless you're stronger than I am). ;)
- Avoid keeping that little bit of"extra" money... put it into savings so you don't have to worry about touching it! If I see it, I feel the need to spend it.
- Delete shopping apps. Don't go to that store/website. Delete promotional emails before you open them.
- Don't look at craft hauls
- Pinterest might be a dangerous place
Take time to appreciate what you have.
Not spending is a golden opportunity to enjoy and explore the things you DO have! There is (or was) a reason why you got that _______ (insert your vice) in the first place. (Re)discover why you love(d) it. I have some of the Gelatos sets; not the entire collection; not the Tim Holtz crayons. There are so many mixed media things I have yet to try with what I have that there is no NEED for more. I don't have all of the paint colors, but I can mix colors to get what I'm looking for. So maybe you are running low on your favorite adhesive... there are alternatives (shop your stash)! Thinking outside of the box.... oooh imagine the possibilities!! That's where the real fun starts!
