This is for the Lawnscaping Challenge: Sweet Theme. I saw this stamp set was retiring, so I snatched it up before it was too late. I knew it would be so easy to paper piece... and oh my goodness... paper piecing gives it endless possibilities! You can decorate it with the stamps in the set, use up some patterned paper, do straight coloring... so many decoratimg options! And much neater than decorating an actual cake. I must say... this plus the Baked with Love set... that is going to have to be my next card! Too stinkin' cute!
I ink blended the background paper with some distress ink, mostly on the edges. Then I stamped several different options of the cake tiers on different patterned paper, and fussy cut those out. When I finally decided on a combination that I preferred, I stamped the cake base onto the card (I was NOT about to fussy cut that outline!). I stamped the candles using different colors already on the card and highlighted the flames with white gel pen. For a little shimmer, I mixed a little perfect pearls with water and painted that onto the cake. I had some confetti-looking rub-ons that I almost couldn't stop adding. Almost. I even added some to the envelope. Finishing touch was the pink twine that I cemented into place with a dot of glue. And that completed the card for today!
