The most recent Lawnscaping Challenge is all about (using your Lawn Fawn products and) showcasing the sentiment. Lawn Fawn already incorporates puns into many of their stamp sets, so I thought I would just take it up a notch. I'll often think about puns/different ways of using the stamps before making the purchase, just so I know I'll get good use out of them. I'm all about stretching supplies.
One thing I like about the challenges is that it's a challenge to everyone, using whatever supplies they have. Obviously, having more supplies helps, but they definitely can be for someone just starting their collection. Less supplies just means a bigger challenge, right? It makes you think outside the box. I also like the challenges because you are actually USING your supplies, no hoarding! Crazy concept, I know! That's the great thing I love about stamps (over, say, stickers): they can be used an infinite number of times!

So here's the project! I used the sentiment already included in the set and stepped it up with Smitty's ABCs to complete the sentiment. I kept it simple, keeping the sentiment as the focus of the card. I had missed the last challenge of the one layer card, so I added that element as well. I just masked off our little scarecrow and stamped and sponged on some ink, so it appears to be behind him. A nifty little trick. To create more depth, I used first, second, and even some third generation stamping. Oh, and how easy was that? All of the corn (stamping and inking) was with just one Distress Ink: Mowed Lawn.
I colored him with Copics then added some detail with a white gel pen. I think those touches really make the image stand out. I made a second one, just for grins (while I still had the supplies out). I only changed the layout and the coloring of the scarecrow. Too cute!
